Barcelona, February 19, 2018. The Team Speed Racing box is completed with the signing of Mike Jones. When we enter the countdown to start the next edition of the RFME Spanish Speed Championship, Team Speed Racing bets on the rider Mike Jones, who will fight for the title in the SuperStock 1000 category with the Kawasaki ZX10RR 2018

Jones, 23 years old, has a long career in Australian motorcycling where he has been champion in the Australian Superbike (2015), Australian SuperStock 600 (2011), Australian 250 GP Mono (2009) and Australian Junior 150/80 (2008).

After more than two months of negotiations between José Regaña, Team Manager of the team and representatives of Jones, finally both parties reached an agreement by which the international will run in the ranks of Team Speed Racing the RFME Spanish Speed Championship 2018 in SuperStock 1000 category. "Jones is a great professional who has already demonstrated his great value as a rider in Australia. I really want him to travel to Spain and start working with him on the pre-championship tests", says Regaña.

Jones also shows great enthusiasm for running again in the Spanish circuits. And, the Australian has already visited us a couple of times. "I competed in Motorland Aragón in the European Championship Superstock 600 in 2013 and in the European Championship SuperStock 1000 in 2017 in Motorland Aragón and in Jerez de la Frontera. In both circuits I enjoyed a lot".

In a couple of weeks Jones will move to Spain and begin training prior to the first meeting of the RFME Spanish Speed Championship which will take place on the weekend of April 7 and 8 at the circuit of La Torrecica (Albacete)

José Regaña (Team Manager): "The whole team is excited about the signing of Mike Jones. This year we have our experience and Mike's experience and that will undoubtedly make us much more competitive, which without a doubt, it will result in good results and podiums."
Mike Jones (Rider): "I’m extremely excited to be joining Team Speed Racing for the 2018 season. This is an excellent opportunity for us to achieve a high level of success together in the RFME Spanish Speed Superstock 1000 Championship. I’m confident and prepared to perform to the best of my ability. I wish to thank the team for trusting me and I look forward to beginning our work together shortly. "
About Team Speed Racing:

The Speed Racing Team was born in 2002 by José Regaña, who after extensive experience in the world of mechanics and racing, decided to make the final leap to the world of motorcycling by participating in the Spanish Speed Championship until 2009, in which he decides to retire to return with more force.
